Writing a College Essay - Things to KnowIf you're looking for a college essay sample to write, then you need to remember that they can vary widely. A good quality one will make a big difference in the amount of credit you get.A great number of people have very different samples to choose from, as well as different topics. So, it's important to find out what sort of essay you are likely to be asked to write and to select the best one to use.So, here's a little bit about what a sample narrative essay should contain. There are several different methods that are used for college writing - some are old-fashioned, and some are modern. We'll talk about the most common ones below.Old fashioned pieces are written in the first person, are structured around a real life situation, and are all done using the first person. They are set in the present and are short - usually no more than three pages. The verbs and adjectives are modern, but there's still a powerful story about the writer's experien ces that is shown through the first person.A narrative essay about current events or contemporary affairs is the next one on the list. This sort of piece is generally longer than an essay on someone's history or past experiences - there are usually two parts to the piece, one showing the different perspectives of each party, and one making a conclusion for each of them.Sample essays with a connection to some other topic, including literature, history, science, etc., is a huge topic that needs a special name. We'll use four separate topics as examples: Genre, History, World Religions, Science, and Literature. They all have a different structure, as well as a different way of presenting information.So, when looking for a writing sample, remember to look at how it is presented and how it was designed.
